A $34.7 billion market in decline

Epixel MLM Software released an updated analysis of the leading multi-level marketing companies in the United States on 9 September 2026. The study leans on the WFDSA's 2024 statistical report, which counted roughly 5.4 million direct sellers and 34.3 million customers in the U.S. during 2024.

Direct selling retail sales in the country reached $34.7 billion (34,740 million USD) in 2024, making the United States the largest billion-dollar market in the Americas with a 56.8% regional share. Measured against the reported seller base, that equates to an average of approximately $6,400 in annual sales volume attributed to each direct seller β€” a sales metric, not a measure of what sellers keep.

The post-pandemic trend, however, has been negative. The report records a compound annual growth rate of -6.6% between 2021 and 2024, and -5.2% in the final year of that period.

Where the sales sit

By product category, services accounted for the largest slice of the 2024 U.S. market at 38.4%. Home and family care and durable goods followed at 14.2%, ahead of personal care at 9.6%.

Clothing and accessories represented 4.7% of the market, while leisure and educational products accounted for 2.4%. Separately, the analysis notes that the United States holds 31% of the global wellness products market.

Epixel's full list ranks one hundred companies by revenue and spans several distinct industries, including wellness, cosmetics, home products, financial services and energy providers.

Revenue leaders and growth outliers

In Epixel's revenue ranking, based on estimated 2025 figures, Amway leads with 7,300 million USD, down 1% from 7,400 million in 2024. The remainder of the top ten comprises Mary Kay at 2,400 million USD (0%, founded 1963), Melaleuca at 2,200 million USD (0%, founded 1985), REAL Brokerage at 2,000 million USD (+59%, founded 2014), DoTerra at 2,000 million USD (0%, founded 2008) and Young Living at 1,800 million USD (0%, founded 1993).

Epixel's separate growth-rate list is headed by Make Wellness, which the analysis credits with 3,233% growth, moving from 3 million USD in 2024 to 100 million USD in 2025; the company was founded in 2024. Other notable entries include Vital Health Global at +120% (founded 2022), Bravenly Global at +104% (2020), REAL Brokerage at +59% (2014), MWR Life at +57% (2013) and Sunrun at +45% (2007).

At the other end of the timeline, the oldest company on the list is Southwestern Advantage, founded in 1855 and described in the analysis as the first direct selling company in the United States.
